Keep your GeoPress purifying

This is the genuine Grayl replacement cartridge for the GeoPress Purifier bottle. When your press time starts creeping up, a fresh cartridge restores the fast, clean pour that makes the GeoPress a favourite for expedition, prepping and overseas travel.

Serious purification, not just filtration

Where a standard filter only tackles bacteria and protozoa, this purifier cartridge removes 99.99% of viruses, 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.99% of protozoan cysts, defending against threats such as Norovirus, Hepatitis A, E. coli, Giardia and Cryptosporidium.

Cleaner water, better taste

Ion exchange combined with ultra-powdered activated carbon adsorbs many chemicals, pesticides and heavy metals, along with sediment and microplastics. It also strips out flavours and odours, so treated water tastes noticeably fresher.

Long life and easy planning

Each cartridge is good for up to 350 presses or 250 litres, and a sealed spare stores for around 10 years. That makes it easy to keep one in your grab bag or expedition kit, ready to swap in the field with no tools.

Ideal for the field and travel

Whether you are on a multi-day exercise, travelling off the beaten track or building a resilient emergency kit, a spare cartridge is cheap insurance. Keep your GeoPress performing at its best wherever clean water is not guaranteed.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I replace the cartridge?

Change it after roughly 350 presses or 250 litres, or sooner when the press time climbs to 25 to 30 seconds. Water heavy in silt, sediment or tannins will shorten that life.

Which bottle does it fit?

It is designed specifically for the Grayl GeoPress Purifier bottle. It does not fit the smaller Grayl Ultralight or older models, which use different cartridges.

Does it remove viruses as well as bacteria?

Yes. Unlike a basic filter, this purifier cartridge removes 99.99% of viruses, 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.99% of protozoan cysts, making it suitable for global travel and unknown water sources.

Will it improve taste and remove chemicals?

It uses ion exchange and ultra-powdered activated carbon to adsorb many chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals, plus unpleasant flavours and odours, leaving cleaner-tasting water.

How long can I store a spare cartridge?

A sealed, unused cartridge has a shelf life of around 10 years, so it is worth keeping a spare in your kit. Once in use it lasts up to a further 3 years.
