Firefly Glow Technology, no power needed

The marker uses 5.11 Firefly Glow Technology. A photoluminescent TPU panel soaks up daylight or a few seconds of torch light, then releases it as a soft glow. There are no batteries to flatten, no bulbs to blow and nothing to maintain, so it is always ready when you are.

Low-profile and snag-free

At just 3in x 1/2in the Light Marker 2 keeps a low, low-friction profile that will not catch on other gear. The tough nylon body stands up to hard field use and wipes clean after a muddy weekend.

Does the Light Marker 2 need batteries?

No. It uses 5.11 Firefly Glow Technology, a photoluminescent panel that charges from daylight or a quick blast of torch light and then glows. There are no batteries, bulbs or wiring to fail.

How long does the glow last?

After a full light charge it glows brightest for the first stretch of darkness and then gradually fades over the night. A few seconds under a torch tops it back up whenever you need it.

How does it attach to my gear?

It fits MOLLE, webbing and HEXGRID platforms, and the low-profile strip can also be lashed to zips, packs or rifle cases with cordage so any item becomes easy to find.

Is it bright enough to use as a torch?

No. It is a passive marker designed to help you locate kit in the dark, not to light your path. For active illumination you would want a powered flashlight.

Will it work after getting wet or muddy?

Yes. The nylon and TPU construction shrugs off rain and mud. Wipe it clean and the glow panel keeps charging and performing as normal.
