Talk without dropping your guard

Good comms win games, and the Z-Tac PTT connector is the link that makes them work. It joins a Z-Tac tactical headset to your radio and puts transmitting on a single, large push-to-talk button, so you can call contacts, movements and orders without ever taking a hand off your replica to grab the handset.

Kenwood 2-pin compatibility

The connector uses the common Kenwood 2-pin standard, so it plugs straight into Baofeng radios like the ever-popular UV-5R as well as Kenwood and other Kenwood-pattern handsets. If your team runs Baofengs, this is the PTT you want.

Built for the field

The housing is moulded from tough nylon to shrug off the knocks of skirmish use, and a metal clip on the back lets you mount it to a vest strap, belt or MOLLE panel exactly where your hand falls. The oversized button is easy to find and press even with gloves on.

Plug in and play

Setup is simple: connect your Z-Tac headset to the PTT, plug the lead into your radio and you are on the net. A key building block for any team comms setup. Browse more tactical gear and comms accessories at Platoon Stores.

Frequently asked questions

What radios does this PTT work with?

It uses a Kenwood 2-pin connector, which fits Baofeng handsets such as the UV-5R as well as Kenwood and other Kenwood-pattern radios.

Which headsets does it suit?

It is designed for Z-Tac and Z-Tactical civilian tactical headsets, letting you connect the headset to your radio and transmit at the press of a button.

What is a PTT for?

A push-to-talk lets you key the radio from a button on your chest or belt instead of reaching for the handset, so you can call contacts and orders without breaking your grip on your replica.

Can I mount it where I want?

Yes. A metal clip on the back lets you attach the PTT to a vest strap, belt or MOLLE webbing so the button sits exactly where you can reach it fast.

Is it easy to set up?

Yes. It is plug-and-play: connect the headset to the PTT and plug the 2-pin lead into your radio, and you are ready to communicate.
