Quiet At The Source

A moderator is not a muffler bolted on the end. The Reservoir uses a tuned multi chamber system that manages airflow and strips excess pressure before it leaves the muzzle, which is why a well designed one reduces the crack rather than simply making it duller. For garden shooting, and for anywhere neighbours or livestock are within earshot, that difference is the entire point.

The Chamfered Profile

This is the RSV2, the chamfered version: clean faceted edges and a more technical look than the rounded profile. Mechanically it is identical inside. Choose on which one you prefer to look at, because they perform the same.

Made In Britain

3 Legged Thing design and build these in Great Britain. They are better known for precision camera equipment, and the same machining approach carries over here, which is why the finish is a cut above what you expect at this end of the market.

Fitting And Buying

It uses the 1/2 inch UNF thread that most UK airguns are cut for. Check what your rifle is threaded to before ordering, and bring it in if you are not sure. Moderators are age restricted and cannot be posted, so this is a collection or age verified sale, the same as an airgun. More in our outdoor shooting range.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit my air rifle?

It uses a 1/2 inch UNF thread, which is the most common fitting on UK airguns. Check what your rifle is threaded to, or bring it into the shop and we will try it.

What is the difference between the chamfered and rounded versions?

Appearance only. The chamfered RSV2 has a faceted, more technical look. Internally they are identical and they perform the same.

What is the difference between the standard and the XL?

The XL has a longer body, which means more internal volume and a quieter shot. The standard is lighter and less likely to affect balance on a short rifle.

Can you post it?

No. Moderators are age restricted and cannot be sent through the post, so it is a collection or age verified sale in the same way as an airgun.
