Some game days you only realise you are short of gas when you are already kitted up in the safe zone. That is why our mobile shop exists. Platoon Stores has been supplying Kent’s airsoft community from our Rochester shop since 2006, and most weekends you will also find us out at the sites themselves.
Where to find us on a game day
We set up in the safe zone, so you do not have to leave the site or miss a game to restock. Look for the Platoon Stores stand near where everyone drops their kit between games.
Right now that means Ace Combat in Brenchley. It is one of the longest running sites in Kent, with woodland, open ground and purpose-built structures for CQB in one location, and it is widely rated as one of the best sites in the county for a first game. The full list of sites we work with is on our airsoft sites page, and that is the page we keep up to date.
We do not publish a fixed rota, and that is not us being cagey. Which weekends we are out depends on which sites are running games, and that changes. Check our social media for where we will be next, or ring the shop on 01634 829063 and we will tell you. If you are still choosing where to play, every site worth playing in the county is covered in our Kent airsoft sites guide.
What we bring with us
The van carries the things that actually end a game day early if you run out. It is a working selection rather than the whole Rochester range, so if you need something specific it is worth asking us in advance.
- BBs. The single most common thing people underestimate. See our BB weight guide if you are not sure what you should be running.
- Gas. Green gas for your pistol or gas rifle. Cold weather is hard on gas guns, which our gas care guide explains.
- Batteries. A dead battery at 10am is a long day. Our battery guide covers what your gun should be running.
- Accessories and consumables. Spare mags, eye protection, slings, lubes and the small parts that go missing.
- A selection of products from the shop. Not the full range, but enough that people regularly buy their next upgrade off the stand.
We take card on the field. No need to find a cash machine on the way to a farm in the middle of Kent.
Order online, collect at the van
We run Click and Collect, and the mobile shop is one of the places you can collect from. Order what you want on the website, choose the collection option at checkout, and pick it up from us at the site instead of waiting in for a courier. It is the easiest way to get something specific, because the van carries a working selection rather than the whole shop.
If you are collecting at a site rather than at the Rochester shop, give us a ring on 01634 829063 before your game day so we know to bring it out with us.
Not got your own kit yet? Rent from us
You do not need to own anything to play your first game. We carry our own rental gear on the mobile shop at the sites we attend: gun, magazine and eye protection, so you can turn up, play a full day and find out whether the sport is for you before spending a penny on your own setup.
Ring ahead on 01634 829063 if you know you will need rental, so we can make sure we have it for you. If you are weighing up what to buy afterwards, our beginner’s guide to airsoft and beginner kit list are the honest version, not the expensive version.
Ask us while we are there
The stand is also the easiest place to get an honest answer about your gun. We run an in-house workshop in Rochester, so if something is not feeding right, sounds wrong or will not hold hop, describe it to us at the site and we will tell you what we think it is and whether it is worth booking it in for a repair. If your gun has stopped firing altogether, our guide to common AEG faults is a good first port of call.
New to the sport and not sure what you actually need? We would rather point you at the right kit than the expensive kit. Start with the beginner’s guide to airsoft and the beginner kit list, then come and talk to us.
Not at your site this weekend?
The mobile shop cannot be everywhere, so there are two other ways to get sorted. Our Rochester showroom on the Medway City Estate has the full range, a workshop and staff who play, and you can handle the kit before you buy. Or shop airsoft online and have it delivered before your next game.
Common questions
Which Kent airsoft sites do you attend?
Ace Combat in Brenchley. Our airsoft sites page is the one we keep current, so check there first. Which weekends we are out depends on which sites are running games, so check our social media or ring the shop before you travel specifically to see us.
Where exactly will you be on the site?
In the safe zone, where players store kit and regroup between games. You will not need to leave the site or miss a game to find us.
Do you carry everything the Rochester shop stocks?
No. The mobile shop carries consumables, accessories and a selection of products, focused on what people actually run out of on a game day. For the full range, including guns, 5.11 Tactical and air rifles, come to the Rochester showroom or order online.
Can you bring something specific for me?
Ask us. Ring the shop on 01634 829063 before the game day and we will tell you whether we can have it on the stand for you.
Are you at sites outside Kent?
The mobile shop works Kent sites. We ship UK-wide from the website, and there are plenty of sites just over the county border covered in our sites guide.
Do you take card at the site?
Yes. We take card payments on the field, so you do not need to bring cash.
Can I collect an online order from the mobile shop?
Yes. We run Click and Collect and the van is one of the collection points. Order online, choose the collection option at checkout, then ring us on 01634 829063 before your game day so we know to bring it out to the site.
Do you hire out rental gear?
Yes, our own rental kit travels with the mobile shop to the sites we attend: gun, magazine and eye protection. It is the cheapest way to try airsoft properly before buying. Ring ahead so we know to have it ready for you.
