The 5.11 Tactical Base 1SF is a keychain folder designed to solve one problem: never having a blade when you need one. At just 34g it clips onto your keys, pack or belt loop with its integrated micro carabiner and split ring, so a capable cutting tool is always in your pocket without you noticing the weight.

A blade that earns its keep

The 1.5 inch sheepsfoot blade is ground from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, a proven everyday-carry steel that takes a keen edge and resists corrosion. The sheepsfoot shape puts a controlled point and a straight cutting edge exactly where you want them for boxes, cord, tape and straps.

Quick, safe deployment

A thumbstud lets you open the Base 1SF one-handed, and a frame lock snaps in behind the blade to hold it firm during use. Fold it back down with a thumb and the whole knife tucks away to a 2.365 inch closed length.

Built tough for its size

The stainless steel body shrugs off the knocks and moisture of daily keychain life, so this little folder keeps working long after cheaper novelty knives give up.

The blade is 1.5 inches (about 38mm) of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel in a sheepsfoot shape. That compact size makes it a handy everyday utility cutter for cord, packaging and straps rather than a heavy-duty fixed blade.

How does it lock open?

The Base 1SF uses a frame lock. A section of the stainless steel frame springs behind the blade tang when open, holding it securely, and you release it with a thumb to fold the knife closed.

Can I attach it to my keys?

Yes. It ships with both a split ring and an integrated micro carabiner, so you can clip it to a keyring, a belt loop, a zip pull or a pack for genuine grab-and-go carry.

Do I have to be 18 to buy this knife?
