Fire when you need it most

BCB survival matches are windproof and waterproof matches built to light and keep burning when ordinary matches give up. Often called storm or lifeboat matches, they are a dependable fire source for anyone heading outdoors, from campers and bushcrafters to serious survivalists building a grab bag.

Built to burn in bad weather

Each match has an extra long head that is hand dipped and varnished, delivering a strong, aggressive flame that lasts over 10 seconds. That extended burn time is what lets you catch tinder in driving rain or strong wind, exactly when a normal match would splutter out.

Sealed and ready

The 25 matches ship in a rugged, waterproof screw-top tub that keeps them bone dry and rattle free in your pack. There are three striker areas, including one sealed inside the lid so you always have a dry strike surface. Sealed against the elements, they store for years, making them ideal for long term kits and caches.

NATO approved reliability

Issued under NSN 9920-99-665-4243, these are the same stormproof matches trusted in military survival packs. Add them to your outdoor shooting and survival kit for peace of mind in the field.

Frequently asked questions

Will these matches light in the rain and wind?

Yes. They are engineered to ignite and keep burning in driving rain and strong wind, where standard matches would fail. The extra long heads push a strong flame through poor conditions.

How many matches are in a tub?

Each sealed waterproof tub holds 25 survival matches, giving you plenty of reliable ignitions for stoves, campfires and emergency use.

How long does each match burn?

Each match burns for over 10 seconds thanks to its extra long, hand dipped and varnished head, giving you time to catch tinder even in bad weather.

Where do I strike them?

The tub has three separate striker areas, including one sealed inside the lid so it stays dry and protected from moisture until you need it.

Are these the same matches used by the military?

They are NATO approved under NSN 9920-99-665-4243, the same style of stormproof matches issued in military life raft and survival kits.
