Why Go Heavier
A 0.30g BB leaves the barrel slower than a 0.20g one but carries its energy further and is far less affected by wind. It also cuts through light foliage rather than being deflected by it. That is why almost everyone moves up in weight once they have played a few games, and why 0.28g and 0.30g are now the default for most players rather than a specialist choice.
Supreme Grade
BLS Supreme Grade BBs are precision moulded to a tight tolerance with a smooth, seam free surface. That matters more than it sounds: an out of round or seamed BB will not sit consistently against the hop rubber, and inconsistent hop is the single biggest cause of shots wandering off line.
Getting The Hop Right
Changing BB weight changes your hop setting. Fit the new weight, then re-set the hop until the BB flies flat rather than climbing or dropping. It takes a couple of minutes and it is the difference between a heavy BB helping you and hurting you. You are welcome to do that on our indoor range at Rochester.
One Warning
