A genuinely waterproof sock

The Bridgedale StormSock is a fully waterproof, breathable sock built for wet ground, river crossings and foul-weather days when boots alone are not enough. It uses a three-layer construction that seals out water while still letting the foot breathe.

How the three layers work

A hard-wearing knitted outer takes the abrasion, a waterproof and breathable membrane forms the barrier that stops water getting in, and a soft merino wool blend inner sits against the skin. Merino is naturally temperature-regulating, moisture-managing and odour-resistant, which helps keep the foot comfortable over long days.

Stay-put performance fit

Bridgedale knit stretch through the sock along with arch support and a smooth toe seam to help it stay in place and reduce the hot spots that cause blisters. That makes it a practical choice for walking, shooting, fishing, dog walking and general outdoor use in the wet.

Sizing and care

This is the medium size. As with all technical socks, wash inside out on a cool cycle and avoid fabric softener, which can clog the membrane and reduce breathability.

Frequently asked questions

Are these actually waterproof?

Yes. The StormSock uses a waterproof, breathable membrane sandwiched between a knitted outer and a merino-blend inner to keep water out while letting the foot breathe.

What is the inner made of?

The inner is a merino wool blend, which is naturally temperature-regulating, moisture-managing and odour-resistant against the skin.

Will they stop blisters?

The performance fit, arch support and smooth toe seam help the sock stay in place, which reduces the movement and hot spots that lead to blisters.

How do I wash them?

Wash inside out on a cool cycle and avoid fabric softener, which can clog the waterproof membrane and reduce breathability.

What are they good for?

Any wet-weather outdoor activity where you want dry feet, including walking, shooting, fishing and dog walking.
