Genuine British Army surplus

This is an authentic British Army issue windproof combat smock, often known as the DPM windproof or SAS-style smock. As genuine ex-issue kit it carries the design details, hard-wearing fabric and field-proven layout that reproduction clothing simply cannot match, at a fraction of the price of new technical outerwear.

Grade 1 surplus condition

Supplied in Grade 1 condition, this is high-grade surplus stock: used but fully serviceable with no damage. Expect honest, light signs of previous use rather than brand-new packaging. Each smock is a genuine service garment ready for many more years of wear.

Built for the field

The tightly woven windproof fabric blocks wind and sheds light rain, while the wired, drawcord hood seals around the face. A full-length front zip sits behind a storm flap, and internal waist and hem drawcords let you cinch out draughts. Reinforced elbows and shoulders handle packs, slings and rough ground.

Plenty of storage

Large bellows cargo pockets and zipped map pockets give genuine field-grade storage for magazines, maps, gloves and snacks, making this a firm favourite for woodland airsoft and bushcraft. Explore more field kit in our clothing range.

Frequently asked questions

What does Grade 1 condition mean?

Grade 1 is high-grade surplus that is used but fully serviceable, with the fabric intact, functional hardware and no significant damage. It is not brand-new, fresh-from-the-packet clothing, and each smock will show honest, light signs of previous service use.

Is the smock waterproof?

No. It is a windproof, water-resistant garment designed to block wind and shed light rain, not a waterproof rain shell. The original water-repellent finish can wear off with age and use, so pair it with a waterproof over layer in heavy rain.

How do I read the sizing?

British military shirt sizing uses two figures in centimetres: the first is the height measurement and the second is the chest measurement, with an approximate inch conversion. Smocks are cut long and loose so you can layer underneath.

What is DPM camouflage?

DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material) is the classic British Army camouflage used for around 50 years before MTP replaced it. Its irregular light and dark shapes break up the wearer's outline, making it a popular choice for woodland airsoft and bushcraft.

Is it good for airsoft?

Yes. The hard-wearing windproof fabric, roomy bellows pockets and DPM pattern make it a practical, authentic outer layer for woodland skirmishing, with plenty of storage for magazines, snacks and kit.
