Keep your gun feeding cleanly

The Element tappet plate is a replacement part for Version 2 airsoft gearboxes. Small and inexpensive, it is nonetheless one of the most important components inside your AEG: it drives the air nozzle in time with the gears and governs correct BB feed.

Why the tappet plate matters

As the sector gear turns, it pulls the tappet plate back to let a BB drop into the chamber, then releases it so the nozzle seals and pushes the round into the barrel. If the fin is worn, cracked or badly timed, you get misfeeds, double feeds and jams. A fresh plate restores clean, reliable feeding.

Built for smooth operation

This plate is moulded from durable, lightweight polymer at around 5g. The fin is shaped to ensure good nozzle opening timing and minimal friction against the sector gear, so it feeds smoothly and adds no unnecessary weight to the gearbox.

Spare and repair

It makes an ideal spare for repairs and a sensible fresh fit during any gearbox rebuild. Since fitting means a full strip, our Kent workshop can install it and reset your timing, or browse more airsoft internal parts.

Frequently asked questions

What does a tappet plate do?

The tappet plate is one of the most important parts of the gearbox. It drives the air nozzle back and forth in time with the gears, controlling when a BB feeds and when the nozzle seals for the shot. Poor timing here causes misfeeds and jams.

Which gearbox does this fit?

This is a Version 2 tappet plate, suiting the majority of AEGs such as M4, M16, MP5 and SCAR-pattern gearboxes. Confirm your gearbox is a V2 before fitting.

When should I replace my tappet plate?

Replace it if the fin is cracked, worn or deformed, or if you are experiencing feeding problems. It is also cheap insurance to fit a fresh one during any full gearbox rebuild.

What is it made from?

It is moulded from a durable, lightweight polymer at roughly 5g, so it feeds smoothly against the sector gear without adding unnecessary mass to the gearbox.

Can you install it for me?

Yes. Fitting a tappet plate requires a full gearbox strip, so our in-house Kent workshop can do the job and correct your air seal and timing at the same time.
