Keep using your old batteries

Rewired your AEG to Deans but still have a drawer full of Tamiya batteries? This adapter is the answer. Female Deans on one end, male mini Tamiya on the other, so a Deans-wired gun or charger can run your existing Tamiya packs with no waste.

No workshop needed

Converting every battery to Deans means a lot of soldering. This adapter avoids all of it. Plug it into the gun’s Deans lead, connect your Tamiya battery, and you are back in the fight in seconds.

Easy to route

The lead is flexible silicone-insulated wire, typically 14 to 18 AWG, so it bends neatly into crane stocks, buffer tubes and handguards instead of springing back and fouling the gearbox.

Mind the polarity

Some airsoft Tamiya wiring is reverse polarity to the RC norm, so always check red to red and black to black through the whole chain before firing. Find more batteries and connectors in our BBs, gas and batteries section.

Charger friendly too

It also works on charger output leads, so a Deans charger can top up Tamiya batteries without buying a second unit.

Frequently asked questions

What does this adapter do?

It lets a gun or charger wired with a male Deans / T-plug accept a battery that still has a mini Tamiya connector. Plug the adapter into your Deans lead, then plug the Tamiya battery in.

When would I need it?

Most commonly after you rewire an AEG to Deans but still own Tamiya batteries you do not want to throw away. The adapter lets you keep using them without rewiring every battery.

Does it hurt performance?

Any extra connector adds slight resistance, so on extreme builds a full rewire is ideal. For typical skirmish AEGs the impact is minimal and the convenience is worth it.

Do I need to check polarity?

Yes. Airsoft Tamiya wiring can be reverse polarity versus the RC standard, so always confirm red to red and black to black through the whole chain before firing to avoid a short.

Is this age restricted?

No. A battery adapter is an electrical accessory, so no age check or UKARA defence is needed to buy it.
