The Stove That Cannot Break
Gas stoves are quicker until the cartridge runs out, the valve freezes or the piezo fails. Solid fuel has none of those problems because it has no moving parts at all. Light a block under a folding stove and it burns. That reliability is precisely why solid fuel has stayed in service alongside far more sophisticated kit, and why it belongs in an emergency kit even if you normally cook on gas.
Fire Dragon
Fire Dragon is BCB’s ethanol based fuel and it is what the British military use. It lights readily, burns cleanly, and it will keep burning in wind and damp where a flame from a lighter would be long gone.
How Long And How Much
Each block is 27g and there are six in a pack. In practice one block is enough to boil a mug of water or heat a ration pack, so a pack is a couple of days of brews. It packs flat inside a mess tin with the stove, which is how most people carry it.
What Else You Need
A folding stove or mess tin cooker, and a means of ignition. Both are in our outdoor and survival range. This is an age restricted product, so we may ask for ID.
