The Highlander HPX200 Compact Stove is a lightweight, folding gas burner built for backpackers, wild campers and expedition cooks who count every gram. Weighing around 130g and packing down to roughly 6 x 6 x 10cm in its hard case, it disappears into a rucksack yet delivers a strong, controllable flame when you need a brew or a hot meal.

Piezo ignition and precise flame control

A built-in piezo igniter lights the burner with a single press, so there is no need to carry matches or a lighter. The wire gas regulating lever lets you dial the flame from a rolling boil down to a gentle simmer, giving you real control whether you are melting snow or slowly warming a ration pack.

Stable, durable construction

Three folding pan supports open out to create a wide, steady base for pots, pans and kettles, while the high-strength aluminium and stainless steel build shrugs off knocks and heat cycle after heat cycle. It is a genuine trail-and-camp workhorse rather than a disposable gadget.

Works with standard gas cartridges

The HPX200 screws onto most threaded valved gas cartridges in 100g, 230g and 450g sizes, so refuelling is simple wherever you buy your gas. Gas is sold separately. Does this stove include a gas cartridge?

No. The HPX200 is supplied as the stove and storage case only. It screws onto standard threaded valved gas cartridges in 100g, 230g or 450g sizes, which are sold separately.

What gas cartridges fit the HPX200?

It uses threaded (screw-thread) valved gas cartridges, the common self-sealing type found in most outdoor shops. Pierceable non-threaded cartridges are not compatible.

How do I light it without matches?

The built-in piezo igniter creates a spark when you press it, so you can light the burner with one hand once the gas is flowing. Carrying a backup lighter is still sensible in very cold or windy conditions.

Is it stable enough for a full-size pan?

The three folding arms give a wider, stable platform suited to most camping pots, pans and kettles. For very large or heavy pots we recommend keeping the load centred and using it on level ground.

How small does it pack down?

The arms fold in and the stove stores in its hard case at roughly 6 x 6 x 10cm, weighing about 130g, so it slips easily into a rucksack side pocket or mess kit.
