The Hawke Honeycomb Sunshade 50mm tackles two problems at once. Its honeycomb grid blocks stray light from reaching the objective lens, so you get a cleaner, glare-free sight picture, and it stops the reflections that can flash off a big objective and give your position away.

A Fraction of the Length

Traditional tube sunshades add several inches to the front of a scope. This honeycomb design is only 9mm deep, delivering the same glare protection in a fraction of the space. That means far less added weight and a much shorter, better balanced setup.

Built for Hawke Scopes

The sunshade is designed for 50mm objective Hawke riflescopes from the 2015 collection onward. Please note it is not compatible with pre-2019 Frontier scopes, the Frontier 30 range, crossbow scopes or 24mm objectives, and Hawke metal flip-up covers cannot be fitted over it.

How does a honeycomb sunshade work?

The honeycomb grid at the front of the shade breaks up and blocks stray light hitting the objective lens, cutting glare and reflections while still letting you aim through it.

Why choose honeycomb over a standard sunshade?

At just 9mm deep it is a fraction of the length of a normal tube sunshade, so it is far lighter and shorter while still stopping glare, and it keeps the scope more covert by killing objective glint.

Will it fit my Hawke scope?

It fits 50mm objective Hawke scopes from the 2015 collection onward. It does not fit pre-2019 Frontier scopes, the Frontier 30 range, crossbow scopes or 24mm objectives.

Can I still use flip-up lens covers?

No. Hawke metal flip-up covers cannot be installed over the honeycomb sunshade, so plan to run one or the other on the objective.

Does it help with hunting?

Yes. By stopping reflections bouncing off the objective lens, it reduces the glint that can alert quarry, making your setup more covert in the field.
