Magnification and optics

The Konus Fighter 4-12×40 AO is a versatile variable-power scope with a 4x to 12x zoom range and a 40mm objective lens. Multi-coated optics deliver bright, contrast-rich images across the magnification range, making it a capable all-rounder for hunting and target work on air rifles and rimfires.

Adjustable objective and parallax

The AO in the name refers to the adjustable objective, which lets you dial out parallax and keep the target and reticle sharp at a wide range of distances. This is a genuinely useful feature for airgunners shooting at varied ranges.

Turrets and adjustment

Finger-adjustable turrets move in 1/4 MOA clicks, with a total adjustment range of 60 MOA for windage and elevation, giving you plenty of scope to zero and hold over. The reticle sits in the second focal plane.

Build and sizing

The scope has a one-piece 25.4mm (1 inch) metal body and is built to be waterproof, fogproof and shockproof for reliable use in the field. It measures 344mm long and weighs 582g, with a generous 101.6mm eye relief and a field of view of 9.4m at 4x down to 3.35m at 12x, measured at 100m.

Who it is for

A well-specified mid-range scope for hunters and plinkers who want variable power, parallax adjustment and repeatable turrets without a premium price.

AO stands for adjustable objective. It lets you remove parallax and keep the image and reticle sharp at different distances, which is helpful across the 4-12x range.

What reticle does it have?

The Fighter 4-12x40 AO is a second focal plane scope. Konus supplies this model with a Mil-Dot style reticle in the UK; confirm the exact reticle with us before ordering if it matters to you.

What is the click value?

The turrets adjust in 1/4 MOA increments, with a total adjustment range of 60 MOA.

Is it suitable for air rifles?

Yes. The 4-12x magnification, adjustable objective and 1 inch tube make it well suited to sub-12 ft-lb air rifles as well as rimfires.

How big and heavy is it?
