Bite protection that packs down to nothing

The Micro Mozzi Headnet is a lightweight head net that shields your face and neck from mosquitoes, midges and other biting insects. Weighing only around 17g, it disappears into a pocket or pack until you need it, then goes on in seconds.

Micro mesh that stops the small stuff

The difference is in the weave. A standard net stops mosquitoes but lets tiny midges through. This ultra-fine micro mesh is tight enough to keep out even the smallest biters, which is what makes it a favourite for the Scottish Highlands and other midge-prone spots.

Wear it your way

Pull it on over a bush hat, cap or helmet to hold the mesh clear of your skin, or wear it under headwear for a closer fit. Either way it covers the whole head and neck, and because it works as a physical barrier there is no need for chemical repellent.

Built for the field

Finished in discreet olive green and supplied in a polyester carry pouch, it suits camping, fishing, fieldcraft and cadet use. Pair it with the rest of your kit from our tactical gear range for a comfortable day outdoors.

Frequently asked questions

Will it keep out Scottish midges, not just mosquitoes?

Yes. The micro mesh is woven fine enough to block the smallest biting midges as well as mosquitoes, which is exactly what a standard net struggles with. It is a popular choice for the Highlands and other midge-heavy areas.

Can I wear it with a hat or helmet?

It is designed to be worn over or under headwear. Wearing it over a brimmed hat or helmet holds the mesh away from your face and neck, which is more comfortable and keeps insects at arm's length.

Does it need insect repellent to work?

No. It is a physical barrier, so it protects without any chemicals. That makes it useful for anyone who prefers to avoid repellents on their skin.

How small does it pack down?

Very small. At around 17g it weighs next to nothing and stows in the supplied pouch, so it slips easily into a pocket, day sack or cadet webbing.

Is it one size?

Yes, it is a one-size design that fits over most heads and headwear thanks to its generous cut and elasticated opening.
