What A Tappet Plate Does
The tappet plate is the part that pulls the air nozzle backwards to let a BB drop into the chamber, then lets it spring forward to seal and fire. It works off a cam on the sector gear, and it does it every single shot. It is small, it is plastic, and it is one of the most common things to break inside a gearbox.
The Symptoms Of A Broken One
The gun cycles but does not fire BBs, or fires them intermittently. Motor sounds fine, gears sound fine, nothing comes out. That combination points at the tappet plate more often than anything else. The tail is the usual failure point, and once it snaps the nozzle stops being pulled back and nothing feeds.
Which Gearbox Is A V3?
Version 3 gearboxes are found in AK, G36, MP5 and SIG pattern AEGs among others, as opposed to the Version 2 used in most M4s. They are not interchangeable. If you are not certain which one you have, ask us before ordering, because the two look similar in photographs and are not.
Fitting
Not sure whether this is the right part for your gun, or would rather someone else fitted it? Our Rochester workshop services and upgrades AEGs in house, and we would rather check compatibility with you first than have you order twice.
