Navigate with confidence
The Highlander Orienteering Compass is a proper baseplate map compass built for real navigation, not a novelty. Its clear acrylic base sits flat on the map so you can take and follow accurate bearings, while the rotating dial and bold graduations make it easy to read in the field.
Built for map work
Meridian lines let you line the compass up with the map gridlines quickly, and the built-in Romer scale rulers (1:20000) help you plot grid references and measure distances without extra kit. Dial graduations of 2, 10 and 20 degrees give you the precision to stay on track.
Light and ready to go
At just 22g and 9cm x 6.5cm x 1.5cm, it slips into any pocket or hangs from the included neck cord. The tough acrylic, ABS and PVC build shrugs off knocks on the trail.
Who it is for
It is a favourite for hiking, orienteering, Duke of Edinburgh, cadets and Scouts, making it an ideal first compass or a reliable spare. Pair it with more field kit from our tactical and outdoor gear range.
