Why Brass, Not Steel
A cleaning rod spends its life being pushed down a rifled barrel. Steel is harder than the barrel and will eventually mark the rifling, particularly at the muzzle where the damage matters most for accuracy. Brass is softer than the barrel, so it wears instead of the barrel does. That is the whole argument, and it is why serious cleaning rods have always been brass.
The Ball Race Handle
The handle turns freely on a bearing, so as the brush or jag follows the rifling the rod rotates with it rather than being forced straight through. It sounds like a detail and it is the difference between cleaning a barrel and scrubbing it.
Three Piece
It breaks down into three sections, so it goes in a range bag or a gun case rather than needing to be carried as a full length rod. For pistols and airguns, where you are not dealing with a long barrel anyway, the take down design costs you nothing.
Threads
This one has a female end, which takes the popular American pattern brushes and jags. Parker Hale also make a male threaded version for their own brushes, so check which your existing accessories use. Cleaning kit is in our shooting range.
