A versatile square shelter

The Robens Trail Tarp 3 x 3m is a fast-pitching square tarp that adapts to whatever your trip demands. Rig it as a lean-to for a night under the stars, an A-frame ridge shelter, or a generous porch, and you have reliable cover for one or two people plus their kit.

Lightweight and packable

Weighing just 0.9kg and packing down to 40 x 9cm, the Trail Tarp earns its place in a backpacking load. It is light enough to carry as an emergency shelter and roomy enough to serve as your main cover on bushcraft and wild-camping trips.

Weatherproof HydroTex fabric

The flysheet uses HydroTex Core 75D polyester 190T with a 3,000mm hydrostatic head, so it sheds sustained rain when pitched with a decent angle. The fabric is also fire retardant, adding a margin of safety when you have a stove running nearby.

Pitch it your way

Use the Trail Tarp on its own with a couple of poles or trekking poles, or pitch it alongside a tent to create an extra sheltered porch for boots, cooking and kit. The square shape opens up dozens of configurations to suit the terrain and wind direction.

Made for the outdoors

In a discreet olive green that blends into woodland and field, this Robens tarp is a dependable, packable piece of shelter kit for campers, bushcrafters and anyone who wants a lightweight roof over their head.

Frequently asked questions

How many people does a 3 x 3m tarp cover?

The square 3 x 3m size comfortably shelters one to two people with kit, or rigs as a generous cooking and social area, depending on how you pitch it.

Is it waterproof enough for UK weather?

Yes. The HydroTex Core flysheet has a 3,000mm hydrostatic head, which sheds sustained rain, and the square cut lets you pitch a steep pitch to run water off quickly.

How heavy is it to carry?

It weighs just 0.9kg, or 0.8kg minimum, and packs down to 40 x 9cm, so it slips into a rucksack without dominating your load for camping or bushcraft trips.

Can I use it with my tent?

Yes. The tarp works as a standalone shelter or pitches alongside a tent as an extra porch or sheltered area for boots, stoves and kit.

Is it safe to cook under?

The fabric is fire retardant, which adds a margin of safety when a stove is nearby, though you should still keep flames at a sensible distance and ensure good ventilation.
