This is the short type (short axle) motor, sized for Version 3 gearboxes such as the AK series, G36 and other V3 AEGs that seat the motor entirely within the grip. Fitting the correct axle length is essential, so confirm your platform uses a short-type motor before ordering.

Neodymium magnets

Which gearboxes does this motor fit?

It is a short-type motor for Version 3 gearboxes, the layout used by AK series and G36 AEGs among others. Short-type motors sit fully inside the grip, so it will not fit a long-type V2 gearbox without the correct grip.

Is this a high speed or high torque motor?

This is the high speed variant, tuned for RPM and rate of fire rather than raw pulling power. If you run a heavy spring above roughly M120, an SHS high torque motor is the better match.

What spring should I run with it?

For best results pair it with standard-to-moderate springs, up to around M120. Very heavy springs increase current draw and reduce the speed benefit, and can shorten motor life.

Will it improve my trigger response?

Yes. The high speed winding and strong neodymium magnets give a snappier trigger and quicker spin-up, which is why it is popular for CQB and speed-focused custom builds.

Do I need to adjust motor height after fitting?

Yes, as with any AEG motor. Set the motor height using the grip's adjustment screw so the pinion meshes correctly with the bevel gear. Too tight or too loose will cause noise, stripping or poor efficiency.
