Serious protection, full awareness

The MSA Sordin Supreme MIL AUX-3B SFA in sand is a professional grade electronic ear defender built for shooters, operators and range staff who cannot afford to compromise. The Sordin Flexible Attenuation concept delivers a high SNR of 32 dB, protecting your hearing in extreme noise while the level dependent electronics let you keep hearing speech, movement and warning signals.

Hear what matters, block what hurts

Two loudspeakers sit in each cup: one reproduces natural surround sound so you retain a real sense of direction, the other handles radio and comms. Dangerous impulse noise like gunfire is compressed to a safe 82 dB(A) rather than simply cut off, so situational awareness never drops.

Comms ready

A 3.5mm AUX input connects an external radio or audio source, and the comms channel keeps working even if the batteries die. Waterproof IP67 tested microphones deliver clear stereo pickup without distortion, so commands come through crisply in the field.

Built to military standards

Tested to MIL-STD-810G and 810H, with electronics sealed in layers of lacquer and polymer, these muffs are made to endure. The two AAA batteries run for around 600 hours, backed by a four hour auto shut off and a low battery warning. See the sand colourway here or the black option alongside our tactical gear range.

Frequently asked questions

What does the SFA in the name mean?

SFA stands for Sordin Flexible Attenuation. It adds extra foam and increased cup volume to raise the SNR to 32 dB, giving these headsets around 4 to 5 dB more protection than standard Supreme models for extreme noise environments.

Will I still hear range commands and teammates?

Yes. The level dependent electronics amplify low sounds like speech, footsteps and warning signals while instantly compressing dangerous impulse noise such as gunfire down to a safe 82 dB(A), so you stay aware without removing the muffs.

Can I connect a radio?

Yes. There is a 3.5mm AUX input for connecting an external two way radio or audio source, and a dedicated comms loudspeaker in each cup keeps radio traffic clear even when the batteries are flat.

How long does the battery last?

The two AAA batteries give roughly 600 hours of use. A four hour auto shut off saves power if you forget to switch off, and a low battery warning sounds when about 40 hours of life remain.

Are they built for hard field use?

Yes. The electronics are encapsulated in multiple layers of lacquer and polymer, the microphones are IP67 waterproof tested, and the headset is tested against the MIL-STD-810G and 810H military standards.
