What is the Dead-Hold BDC reticle used for?

The Dead-Hold BDC reticle gives you calibrated holdover points below the centre crosshair and windage marks either side, so you can compensate for bullet drop and wind at longer ranges without dialling the turrets. It suits shooters who engage targets at varied distances and want a fast aiming reference.

Does the adjustable objective help with air rifle shooting?

Yes. The adjustable objective (AO) lets you remove parallax error and sharpen focus at the shorter ranges typical of air rifle work, as well as out to distance. That precise focus matters for the tight groups sub-12 ft/lb air rifle shooters chase.

Are scope mounts included?

No, mounts are sold separately. This scope uses a 1 inch tube, so you will need 1 inch rings or a one-piece mount matched to your rail (Weaver, Picatinny or 11mm dovetail). Our team can advise on the right height and base for your rifle.

Is the Vortex VIP warranty valid in the UK?

Yes. The VIP warranty is unlimited, unconditional and lifetime, fully transferable with no receipt required. Vortex will repair or replace the scope if it is ever damaged or defective, though it does not cover loss, theft or deliberate damage.

What is the difference between the 4-12x50 and the 4-12x40?

Both share the same magnification and Dead-Hold BDC reticle. The 50mm objective on this model gathers more light for a brighter image in dawn, dusk and low-light conditions, at the cost of slightly more weight and a taller mounting height than the 40mm version.
