The easiest way to protect your magazines

Abbey Predator Maintenance Gas 144a is designed to keep gas airsoft magazines in top condition. The lubricant stays dissolved in the gas and constantly nourishes the o-rings and seals inside the magazine, whether you store it upright, on its side or upside down, preventing the drying out that leads to leaks.

Low pressure, long life

At 6.6 bar at 25C, the 144a is deliberately lower pressure than firing gas. That gentler charge reduces wear on internal components and helps extend the lifespan of your magazines, protecting an expensive part of your setup for the price of a quick spray.

Made for real-world routines

The handy 270ml can slips into a tool box or kit bag, and it keeps working in cooler temperatures. Make it part of your pack-down: charge each magazine with maintenance gas at the end of every game before storage and leaks become a rare event.

UK made quality

Abbey manufacture this gas in the United Kingdom with a polymer nozzle for controlled dispensing. Find gas, BBs and batteries together in our BBs, gas and batteries section.

Frequently asked questions

What does maintenance gas actually do?

It is a low-pressure, heavily lubricated gas that you charge magazines with before storage, keeping the internal seals and o-rings nourished so they do not dry out and leak.

Is this the same as green gas for firing?

No. At 6.6 bar it is deliberately lower pressure than propellant gas. It is meant for maintenance and storage, not for powering shots on the field.

How often should I use it?

A good habit is to top up magazines with maintenance gas at the end of every game day before you store them away.

Will it work in cold weather?

Yes, it is formulated to keep operating effectively in cooler temperatures.

Do I need to be 18 to buy it?

This is a pressurised aerosol, so it is sold to over-18s only in line with our consumables policy.
