A precision bore for short guns, where it matters most
Short barrels are the hardest place to find accuracy. There is less time for the BB to settle before it leaves the muzzle, so anything sloppy in the bore shows up immediately as a wandering group. This AOLS barrel tightens the internal diameter to 6.03mm, down from the 6.05mm to 6.08mm found in most stock AEG barrels. Less air escapes around the BB, more of the cylinder volume goes into pushing it straight, and the BB is guided more consistently on its way out.
What 141mm actually fits
141mm is the Tokyo Marui specification length for the MP5 PDW and MP5K PDW, and it is the length most short PDW and CQB builds are cut to. Because there is no single standard across every manufacturer, always measure your existing inner barrel before ordering. If your measurement sits between two available sizes, round down rather than up. A barrel a few millimetres short still works properly, whereas one that is too long will protrude past the muzzle or foul the outer barrel assembly.
Brass, polished, and marked the right way round
The barrel is machined from brass and finished with a polished bore. Brass is softer than steel, which makes it forgiving to clean and less likely to scuff a BB on the way through, and it holds a consistent bore without needing any coating. AOLS laser etch the brand, the 141mm length and a “this side toward enemy” arrow onto the outside, which sounds like a joke until you have rebuilt a hop unit backwards once. The hop window is a standard AEG bridge type cut, so it takes normal TM spec buckings and sits correctly in a standard hop chamber.
Fitting it, and chronographing afterwards
Swapping an inner barrel is mechanically simple but it does mean stripping the hop unit out of the gun, releasing the C clip and transferring the bucking across. It is a sensible job for an intermediate tech with a set of small tools and half an hour. A precision bore can nudge your output upwards, so always chronograph after fitting and adjust hop tension or spring to stay inside your site limits. Getting the most out of a tighter bore
A 6.03mm bore is less tolerant of poor ammunition than a wide stock barrel, because a slightly oversized or out of round BB has nowhere to go. Run good quality, seamless, correctly weighted BBs and keep the bore clean with an unjamming rod and a patch. Pairing a new barrel with a fresh hop rubber and nub is where most of the real accuracy gain comes from, since a tired bucking will undo the work a good bore does.
