Fix a common weak point

The body pins that hold your gearbox in an M4 or M16 receiver are one of the most overlooked failure points in a build. Stock replicas often use soft alloy pins that bend, mushroom or loosen, especially once you fit a stronger spring or run a high rate of fire. This Guarder set replaces them with reinforced steel.

Why steel matters

When a body pin flexes or wears, the gearbox can shift fractionally inside the receiver. That misalignment feeds straight into your gears, cylinder and hop unit, causing inconsistent feeding, odd noises and premature wear. Hardened steel pins hold the gearbox firmly in place so the whole drivetrain stays true under load.

Direct drop-in fit

Made for M16 and M4 AEGs on a Version 2 gearbox, these are a straight swap for the original pins. No filing, no modification, just push out the old and fit the new. It is one of the cheapest bits of insurance you can add to an upgraded gun.

Fit it yourself or let us do it

Confident players can fit these at home in minutes. If you would prefer it handled during a service or a power change, our in-house team can take care of it. Explore more parts in our airsoft accessories range or book our airsoft repair service.

Frequently asked questions

What do these pins actually replace?

They replace the front and rear body pins that pass through an M4 or M16 receiver and hold the gearbox in place. Many stock replicas use soft pot-metal pins that bend, deform or work loose over time, especially on upgraded guns.

Will they fit my rifle?

They are designed for M16 and M4 style AEGs built on a Version 2 gearbox, which covers the vast majority of Tokyo Marui pattern replicas and clones. If your rifle takes standard M4 body pins, these are a direct fit.

Why upgrade to steel pins?

Higher-powered springs and high rate-of-fire setups put more stress on the receiver pins. Hardened steel resists bending and wear far better than the original alloy, keeping the gearbox correctly aligned so your gears and hop unit stay true.

Is fitting them a difficult job?

No. They are a straight swap for the existing pins, so most players can fit them at home with basic tools. If you would rather it was done alongside a service or upgrade, our Kent workshop can handle it.

Do I need any other parts with them?

Not usually. They are a self-contained upgrade. They pair well with other reinforcement parts if you are building a higher-powered gun, but on their own they are simply stronger replacements for a common weak point.
