How does a tracer unit work?

As each tracer BB passes through the unit, a powerful flash charges the luminous compound inside the BB. The BB then glows brightly in flight, giving you a visible streak in low light or darkness, similar to a real tracer round.

What BBs do I need to use with it?

You need 6mm luminous or tracer BBs, which contain a phosphorescent compound. Standard BBs will not glow. Green tracer BBs generally give the brightest, longest-lasting effect.

Will it fit my gun?

It screws onto any barrel with a standard 14mm CCW thread, which covers most AEGs and many rifles. If your pistol uses an 11mm CW thread you will need a separate thread adapter to fit it.

Is it rechargeable?

No. The Essential Tracer Unit runs on 3 x AA batteries, which are not included. The upside is no charging downtime, so you can carry spare cells and keep playing all night.

Can it keep up with full-auto fire?

Yes. It is rated to charge BBs at up to 35 rounds per second, so it comfortably keeps pace with full-auto AEGs and gives a continuous glowing stream downrange.
