The 1911, Brought Up To Date
The 1911 is the pistol everything else gets compared to, and the Raven MEU is the affordable way into it. What Nuprol have added is the thing the original never had: a 20mm Picatinny rail under the dust cover, so you can hang a torch or a laser off it. That single change turns a period piece into something genuinely useful in a dark building.
What You Get For The Money
It is metal bodied, it runs at around 300 fps on Nuprol 2.0 and 3.0 gas, and it comes with a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel fitted as standard. For the least expensive gas pistol in our Raven range that is a lot of specification, and it is why we are happy to recommend it to people who are not yet sure how deeply they want to get into airsoft.
Magazines And Gas
It takes standard MEU and 1911 pattern gas magazines, with one supplied in the box. Extended capacity magazines and CO2 magazines are available separately, so you can run green gas through the summer and switch to CO2 when it gets cold. Being a single stack design, spare magazines are worth having.
Where It Fits
Slim, flat and easy to carry, the MEU works best as a backup to a primary or as a light option for close quarters games. If you want more capacity, look at the double stack Raven Hi-Capa 4.3 instead, which shares much of the same engineering in a higher capacity package.
Buying It
