A Garden Classic, Perfected

The Opinel No.8 Pruning Knife brings the brand’s legendary folding design to the garden and field. Its curved, billhook-style blade hooks around stems and branches so every cut is clean and controlled, ideal for pruning, grafting and harvesting.

Blade You Can Rely On

The 8cm blade is forged from Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel, a premium Swedish alloy prized for taking a razor edge while shrugging off corrosion. A quick wipe after use is all the care it needs. See more cutting tools in our tactical range.

Comfort and Safety

The warm beechwood handle sits naturally in the hand and stays comfortable through long sessions. Opinel’s patented Virobloc safety ring locks the blade both open and closed, so it will not fold on your fingers in use or open in your pocket.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an age restriction to buy this?

Yes. This is a restricted sale item. You must be 18 or over, and we ask for proof of ID before dispatch via an age-verified delivery service.

What is the curved blade for?

The hooked, curved edge draws stems and branches into the cut, making pruning, grafting and harvesting quicker and cleaner than a straight blade.

How does the blade lock?

The patented Virobloc collar rotates to lock the blade both open and closed, keeping it secure in use and safe when folded away.

Does the stainless blade need maintenance?

Very little. The Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel resists rust well. Wipe it dry after use and occasionally oil the pivot for smooth action.

Can I sharpen it?

Yes. The high-carbon stainless steel takes and holds a fine edge and is easy to touch up on a whetstone or ceramic rod.
