A 15 foot zone of protection

The Thermacell Backpacker Repeller uses gentle heat to release a repellent from a small mat, creating a 15 foot by 15 foot zone that keeps mosquitoes and midges away from your pitch. There is no spray, no mess, no DEET and no scent, so you can relax around camp without covering yourself in repellent.

Runs on the gas you already carry

Rather than using its own fuel or batteries, the Backpacker screws directly onto a standard backpacking stove gas canister with a twist and lock fitting. The canister must be a pressurised, self-sealing isobutane and propane mix and meet the EN417 valve specification. It will not work with 100 percent propane. The gas canister is not included.

Fuel efficient on the trail

Because it sips gas, a single canister lasts a long time. Thermacell quotes up to 90 hours of run time on a 4oz (113g) canister and up to 360 hours on a 16oz (454g) canister, so one repeller can cover a long trip. An integrated piezo igniter starts it up with no need for matches.

Light, compact and packable

At just 114g and 97mm tall, the Backpacker slips into a jacket pocket or a small pouch on your pack. It delivers dependable performance up to an elevation of 7,000 feet and ships with repellent mats and a water-resistant travel bag.
