A small part that protects the whole gearbox
The anti-reversal latch is one of the most important small components in an AEG gearbox. It engages the ratchet teeth on the bevel gear to stop the gears spinning backwards once the motor switches off. Without it, the compressed spring would drive the gears in reverse, straining the motor and battery and risking damage.
Steel, built to last
This genuine ASG Ultimate latch (part 16616) is made from steel and is precision cut then reinforced to resist chipping and breaking. That toughness matters most in upgraded builds running high-force gearsets, where a weaker latch is a common failure point.
Version 6 fitment
This latch is made specifically for the Version 6 (V6) gearbox, the type found in P90 style AEGs. It is not interchangeable with V2 or V3 latches, so it should only be fitted to a V6 gearbox.
Fitting and servicing
