Tune your AEG’s power
The main spring is the single component that most directly sets an AEG’s muzzle velocity. These Guarder springs are quality replacement and upgrade springs for standard airsoft gearboxes, letting you raise or restore your rifle’s power to suit a particular site limit or role. Choose the rating you need from the options.
How the ratings work
Airsoft springs use an M-series code that reflects the approximate muzzle velocity in metres per second with a 0.20g BB. A higher number means a stiffer spring and more power. Actual figures always depend on your air seal, cylinder, hop unit and barrel length, so the ratings are a guide and you should always chronograph the finished build.
Match the spring to the job
Lower ratings around M90 to M100 suit CQB and standard skirmish limits, while higher ratings are used for outdoor and semi-automatic DMR builds. Bear in mind that stronger springs place more stress on the gearbox, so heavier setups often benefit from a reinforced piston, a high-torque motor and a suitable battery.
Play within the rules
UK skirmish sites set their own muzzle-energy limits and fully automatic AEGs are subject to legal energy limits, so pick a rating that keeps you comfortably inside your site’s limit and always confirm output on a chronograph before play.
