Serious outdoor cooking

The Petromax FT6 Dutch Oven is a heavy-duty cast iron pot built for campsite feasts and family cook-ups. With a 5.5L capacity it feeds four to eight people from a single pot, whether you are slow-cooking a stew, baking bread or roasting over the fire.

Cast iron performance

Cast iron gives superb heat retention and even heat distribution, so food cooks consistently using minimal fuel. The FT6 arrives pre-seasoned from the factory, saving you time and effort so you can cook straight out of the box, and it develops a better patina with every use.

Campfire-ready design

Three sturdy legs let the oven stand securely over campfires and charcoal for stable, direct heat, while the cast iron lid has a raised edge to hold coals for true oven-style baking. Flip the lid over and it becomes a skillet or griddle, perfect for breakfast, sides or searing meat.

Precision and durability

A built-in thermometer notch lets you monitor internal temperature without lifting the lid and losing heat. It weighs around 9kg and measures 20 x 36.4 x 31.2cm, a robust piece of outdoor kit that will last for years of adventures.

Frequently asked questions

How many people does the FT6 feed?

With a 5.5L pot capacity it comfortably serves four to eight people, making it ideal for family camping trips, group cook-ups and hearty one-pot meals at home.

Do I need to season it before first use?

It arrives pre-seasoned from the factory, so you can cook straight away. Re-seasoning occasionally after cleaning keeps the non-stick patina in good condition.

Can I use it over an open fire?

Yes. The three legs give it stability over campfires and charcoal, and the lid has a raised edge so you can pile coals on top for even, oven-style heat.

What is the lid for besides covering the pot?

The cast iron lid doubles as a skillet or griddle when flipped over, so you can fry breakfast, sear meat or cook sides on the same piece of kit.

How do I check cooking temperature?

A built-in thermometer notch lets you slot a probe in to read the internal temperature without lifting the lid, so you keep the heat in while baking or roasting.
