Why shimming matters
Shims position and level your gears into their optimum placement inside the gearbox. Set a gear too low and it binds against the shell with unnecessary friction; set it too high and the teeth fail to mesh correctly. Either fault can chew up gear teeth, wreck bushings and lead to catastrophic gearbox failure that damages other parts too.
What you get
The pack includes 24 precision steel shims spread across four thicknesses: 0.1mm, 0.2mm, 0.3mm and 0.5mm, six of each. That range lets you stack combinations and centre the bevel, spur and sector gears with real accuracy.
