A Third Hand
Cleaning a rifle needs two hands for the rod and one for the rifle, which is one more than most people have. A maintenance bipod holds the gun level and still on the bench so you can work on it rather than wrestle it. It is a small purchase that removes a genuine irritation.
Zeroing Too
The other use is steadying the rifle while you zero a scope. Removing your own wobble from the equation means the group you are looking at is the rifle and the pellet, not you, which makes adjusting a scope far quicker and far less frustrating.
Clip On
It clips on rather than needing a permanently fitted stud or rail, so it goes on for the job and comes off again afterwards. Nothing to drill, nothing left on the gun.
On The Bench
Pair it with a maintenance mat and a decent rod and you have a proper cleaning setup for very little money. All of it is in our shooting range.
