Permanent fixes, not temporary patches

A slow leak can ruin a night under canvas. The Therm-a-Rest Permanent Home Repair Kit uses a wet vinyl adhesive combined with fabric patches to bond permanently to your sleeping pad, giving a far stronger and longer-lasting repair than peel-and-stick patches on their own.

Everything in one kit

Inside you get four coloured adhesive patches, a clear patch, two alcohol prep pads, a wooden applicator and a 2oz tube of adhesive. The prep pads clean and prime the surface so the patch grips properly, and the colour options let you match the pad or repair discreetly.

Handles the big tears too

Because it relies on wet adhesive rather than a simple sticker, this kit is the recommended solution for larger tears that quick patches simply cannot hold. Allow roughly 8 to 12 hours for the repair to cure fully and it will keep its air like new.

Made for every Therm-a-Rest mat

The kit is compatible with all Therm-a-Rest self-inflating and air mattresses, making it an essential piece of camp insurance. Pair it with the rest of your outdoor and camping kit so a small puncture never ends a trip early.

Frequently asked questions

What is inside the kit?

Four coloured adhesive patches, one clear patch, two alcohol prep pads, a wooden applicator, a 2oz tube of adhesive and instructions.

How long does the repair take to cure?

The wet adhesive needs roughly 8 to 12 hours to fully cure, so it is best done the day before you need the mat again. Clean the area with the prep pad first for the strongest bond.

Will it work on large tears?

Yes. Because it uses wet adhesive with fabric patches rather than a simple stick-on patch, it is the recommended choice for larger tears as well as pinhole punctures.

Is it only for Therm-a-Rest mats?

It is designed for and compatible with all Therm-a-Rest sleeping pads, though the adhesive and patches will hold on many similar coated fabrics.

How do I find the leak first?

Inflate the mat, then run it over water or wipe with soapy water and watch for bubbles. Mark the spot, dry and clean it with the alcohol pad, then apply the patch and adhesive.
