MSR WhisperLite Universal stove

The Universal is the hybrid WhisperLite, the first in the family to run on both gas canisters and liquid fuels. That flexibility makes it a superb all-rounder for backpacking, expeditions and international travel.

One stove, many fuels

Burn isobutane-propane canisters for convenience and simmer control, or switch to white gas, kerosene or unleaded petrol for cold weather, long trips and hard to source fuel regions. Fuel specific couplers and jets make the change quick.

Performance

It boils 1 litre in around 3.5 minutes on white gas and about 3.75 minutes on a canister. The minimum weight is roughly 388g, and it packs down with its pump, couplers and windscreen into the supplied stuff sack.

Note on fuel

A fuel bottle or gas canister is not included and is sold separately, and MSR IsoPro canisters give the best canister performance. Explore more cooking and camp gear in our outdoor range.
