When a shim job needs that last touch of precision, thin shims make the difference. This ASG Ultimate set delivers 20 steel shims, ten at 0.1mm and ten at 0.2mm, letting you build up gear height in the smallest possible steps for a perfect mesh.

The job every gearbox needs

Shims sit on either side of the bevel, spur and sector gears to control their height and side play. Aligned correctly, the gears spin freely and mesh squarely. The result is a quieter gearbox, smoother trigger response, better power transfer to the piston and far less wear on your internals.

Steel that holds its ground

Hardened steel shims resist the compression that causes cheaper alloy shims to bed in and loosen. Set your mesh once and it stays put game after game.

What is the difference between this and the 0.15/0.3 set?

This set uses thinner 0.1mm and 0.2mm shims for finer height adjustment. Many techs keep both sets so they can build up almost any gap in small, precise increments.

What do gearbox shims actually do?

They set the height and side play of each gear so the teeth mesh squarely. Good shimming reduces noise, improves efficiency and protects the gears and piston.

Which rifles will this work with?

Any airsoft AEG using a standard Version 2 or Version 3 gearbox, which includes most M4, MP5, AK, G36 and similar electric rifles.

How many shims are in the pack?

Twenty in total: ten 0.1mm and ten 0.2mm steel shims, enough to shim all three gears on both sides with room to spare.

Can you fit these for me?

Yes. Shimming needs the gearbox open and set with care, so our in-house Kent airsoft repair and servicing team can shim, rebuild and test your rifle.
