Restore your M4’s realistic look

The Big Dragon M4 Bolt Release Catch is a metal replacement for the external bolt catch on the left of an M4 or M16 AEG lower receiver. On most electric guns this control is cosmetic, but a missing or broken one spoils the realism, and this part puts the authentic detail back.

Metal where it counts

Made from metal rather than plastic, it offers a more durable, better-looking finish that stands up to handling and matches standard black M4 furniture. It is the sort of small upgrade that noticeably lifts the overall appearance of a build.

A simple, affordable fix

Bolt catches, along with their small pins and springs, are among the parts most likely to wear or go missing. This inexpensive replacement is an easy way to smarten up a tired receiver or complete a custom M4 project.

Fitting and support

Fitment can vary slightly between brands, so compare it with your existing catch before installing. If you would like it fitted, our Kent airsoft repair service can help, and you will find more parts in our airsoft accessories range.

Frequently asked questions

What does the bolt release do on an AEG?

On most M4 AEGs the bolt catch is a cosmetic external control on the left of the lower receiver. This part restores the realistic look rather than driving a working bolt.

Which guns does it fit?

It is made for M4 and M16 pattern AEGs. As fitment can vary slightly between brands, check it against your existing bolt catch before installing.

Why replace the bolt catch?

Bolt catches can wear, break or go missing, especially the small pin and spring. This metal replacement is a cheap way to tidy up the receiver and keep it looking right.

Is metal better than the stock part?

A metal bolt catch is more durable and looks more authentic than a plastic one, giving your M4 a cleaner, more realistic finish.

Do I need UKARA or to be 18?

No. It is an external spare part, not a firearm, so there is no age restriction and no UKARA requirement.
