A tough upgrade piston

The SHS 15 tooth piston is a well-priced, hard-wearing upgrade for Version 2 and Version 3 AEG gearboxes, the type found in M4, M16, AK style and most standard airsoft rifles. It is a sensible first internal upgrade and equally at home in higher-performance builds.

Full steel rack

The piston carries a full rack of 15 steel teeth that are significantly stronger than plastic teeth. That makes it well suited to heavier springs and higher FPS setups where plastic racks would be prone to stripping.

Bearing piston head included

Supplied with the piston is a ventilated aluminium piston head mounted on a bearing. This promotes smoother movement and a better air seal in the cylinder, helping keep your FPS consistent and your cycling crisp.

Install and support

Fitting requires gearbox disassembly, and for the best angle of engagement a tooth may need removing. If you would rather leave it to the experts, book in with our Kent repair workshop or browse more airsoft accessories.

Why does it have steel teeth?

The 15 teeth are steel rather than plastic, making them much stronger and better able to handle heavier springs and higher FPS builds without stripping.

What is the piston head like?

Do I need to modify anything on install?

For the best angle of engagement you may need to remove a tooth before the pickup tooth. If that is not possible, a 14 tooth piston is the recommended alternative.

Can you fit this for me?

Yes. Fitting a piston means opening and rebuilding the gearbox, which needs some experience. Our Kent workshop can install and shim it correctly for you.
