Restore your gearbox seal

The SHS Piston Head O-Rings come as a set of six, giving you plenty of spares to keep your AEGs sealing correctly. The piston head O-ring is one of the smallest parts in the gearbox but one of the most important for performance.

Why the O-ring matters

This ring forms the airtight seal between the piston head and the cylinder wall. When it wears, cracks or flattens, air escapes past the piston and compression drops, leading to weaker, inconsistent shots.

Cut friction and air loss

A fresh SHS O-ring reduces friction against the cylinder while sealing tightly, so the piston drives a full charge of air down the barrel every stroke. It is one of the cheapest ways to bring a tired gearbox back to health.

Universal fit

These are compatible with most AEG piston heads and brands. Browse more airsoft accessories, or book our Kent repair service to fit and re-seal your gearbox.

Frequently asked questions

When should I replace my piston head O-ring?

A worn, cracked or flattened O-ring is a common cause of lost compression and inconsistent shots. If your AEG has dropped in power for no obvious reason, the O-ring is a cheap first thing to check.

Will these fit my piston head?

They are a universal size compatible with most AEG piston heads and brands. The common piston head O-ring size is 19 x 2.5mm, which suits standard heads.

How many are in the pack?

You get six O-rings, giving you a working spare set for several rebuilds or maintenance sessions.

Do a fresh O-ring really improve performance?

Yes. The O-ring creates the airtight seal that lets the piston push a full charge of air down the barrel. A good seal directly improves compression and consistency.

How do I fit one?

The O-ring seats into the groove on the piston head. It is a simple job during any gearbox strip, and our Kent workshop can do it as part of a service.
