What this part does

The SHS tappet plate does a lot of quiet work inside a Version 2 gearbox. Driven by the sector gear, it moves the air nozzle forward and back in time with the piston, chambering a BB and sealing the nozzle for every shot. A worn or cracked tappet plate is a common cause of misfeeds.

Build and materials

Moulded from fibre-reinforced polymer, this plate is known for standing up to hard use, which is why it is a common choice for servicing and rebuilds. It is also well regarded for clean feeding and tapering.

Who it suits

It fits Version 2 gearboxes used in M4, M16, MP5, G3 and similar rifles, making it a versatile repair spare for the most common AEG platform.

Fitting and support

Fit it alongside a healthy tappet spring for reliable feeding. Our Kent airsoft repair service can diagnose feeding faults and rebuild your gearbox, with related internals in airsoft accessories.
