Built for the Tokyo Marui SCAR NGRS

FPS Softair produced this as one of the first dedicated pistons for the Tokyo Marui SCAR NGRS (Next Generation Recoil Shock) platform. It replaces the vulnerable factory piston with a far tougher unit engineered for the recoil system, making it a smart upgrade for anyone running or repairing a Marui NGRS SCAR.

Carbon fibre body, metal teeth

The body is moulded from technopolymer loaded with carbon fibre, which delivers high mechanical strength while staying light and smooth. It carries 14 full-metal teeth so the piston can survive the heavy shock of high rate of fire setups where polymer teeth would strip.

MIM steel rack

The tooth rack is produced using Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) in SAE 4650 steel, widely regarded as one of the best materials for this job. The sliding guides are shaped to minimise friction and hold lubricant for longer, keeping the piston travelling cleanly through the cylinder.

Fitting and support

This is an internal part best fitted during a full gearbox service. If you would prefer expert installation and tuning, our Kent airsoft repair workshop can help, and you can find matching internals in our airsoft accessories range.

Which gun is this FPS piston made for?

It is designed specifically for the Tokyo Marui SCAR NGRS (Next Generation Recoil Shock) electric recoil rifle. It is not a universal V2 piston, so it should only be used in the SCAR NGRS platform it was engineered for.

Why does it have full-metal teeth?

The 14 full-metal teeth, made by Metal Injection Moulding from SAE 4650 steel, resist the wear and shock of high rate of fire builds far better than polymer teeth, which strip more easily under stress.

What is the benefit of the carbon fibre technopolymer body?

Loading the technopolymer with carbon fibre gives a strong yet light body. Lower reciprocating weight reduces mechanical stress on the gearbox and improves smoothness, while the material stays durable.

Do I need any other parts to fit it?

The piston works with a matching piston head and correctly shimmed gears. For best results, fit it as part of a full service and pair it with a quality piston head and cylinder head.
