A stronger, smarter piston head

The Laylax Prometheus POM NEO piston head is a straightforward but genuinely worthwhile internal upgrade for airsoft electric rifles. The NEO grade POM is significantly stronger than the original POM head, giving you extra durability for rapid and prolonged firing without adding bulk.

Better air seal, better efficiency

A quality O-ring and refined face design improve the seal and lift output efficiency, so more of your spring’s energy ends up behind the BB. That means a more consistent muzzle energy and a cleaner shot cycle across your build.

Quieter and lighter

Redesigned ports at the head trim weight while helping the piston vent cleanly, and POM naturally produces a softer, quieter cycle than an aluminium head. The integrated bearing race lets the head spin freely under compression, easing spring twist and prolonging spring life.

Build it right

The POM NEO fits standard Version 2 and Version 3 gearboxes and plays nicely with Tokyo Marui, ICS and Classic Army platforms. For a balanced upgrade pair it with Prometheus springs, and browse the rest of our airsoft accessories for the parts to complete your rebuild.

Which gearboxes does this fit?

It suits standard Version 2 and Version 3 AEG gearboxes and is compatible with Tokyo Marui, ICS, Classic Army and most standard AEG pistons. A dedicated Next Gen version is also produced for Marui NGRS.

Why choose POM over aluminium?

POM runs quieter and gives a softer shot cycle than an aluminium head, while the reinforced NEO material stays durable under rapid, prolonged firing.

What does the bearing do?

The integrated bearing race lets the piston head rotate freely as the spring compresses, reducing spring twist and helping the spring live longer.

Is a piston included?

No. This is the piston head only. It is designed to fit onto a compatible standard AEG piston body.

Does it need any other upgrades?

It works with a standard build, but Laylax recommends pairing it with Prometheus upgrade springs to get the best output and durability.
