What this part does

The SHS lightweight 15 tooth piston is built for speed. Removing material from the body reduces mass, so the piston accelerates and returns faster, sharpening trigger response and helping push a higher rate of fire in tuned builds.

Build and materials

A full rack of steel teeth handles gear engagement while the vented, fibre-reinforced polymer body keeps weight low without sacrificing impact durability. Grease grooves cut into the rail guides help keep the piston lubricated during rapid firing.

Who it suits

This piston is aimed at high-speed and high rate-of-fire tune-ups on Version 2 and Version 3 gearboxes. It fits M4, M16, AK and most standard AEGs, and the pre-ground final tooth on many batches aids correct engagement.

Fitting and support

Correct angle of engagement and shimming matter with lightweight pistons. Our Kent airsoft workshop can build and tune your gearbox, and related internals are listed under airsoft accessories.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose a lightweight piston?

A lighter piston accelerates and returns faster, which improves trigger response and rate of fire in high-speed builds compared with a heavier piston.

Which gearbox does it fit?

It suits Version 2 and Version 3 gearboxes found in M4, M16, AK and most standard AEGs. Confirm your gearbox version before ordering.

Are the teeth steel?

Yes, it uses a full rack of steel teeth in a lightened, vented polymer body, balancing durability with reduced mass.

Is it good for DSG or high-speed setups?

It is popular for high rate-of-fire tune-ups. For dual-sector or extreme builds, pair it with matched gears and correct AoE for reliability.

Will it work in a stock gun?

Yes, but the benefits are greatest in high-speed builds. In a stock gun it still works as a light, durable replacement piston.
