Overview

The ASG Ultimate CNC Piston Head is a machined aluminium-alloy upgrade for AEG gearboxes from ASG’s respected Ultimate parts range. It is built to improve air seal and reduce friction inside the cylinder for more consistent performance.

Ported seal design

The head carries 8 pressure holes that work with the piston’s O-ring. As the piston drives forward, air pushes the O-ring outward to seal firmly against the cylinder wall, giving efficient compression through the power stroke.

Built-in bearing

An integrated pressure bearing reduces friction as the main spring compresses and lets it rotate more freely. That lowers spring stress and helps the gearbox cycle smoothly, particularly useful in higher-output builds.

Dimensions and fitting

It measures 14.5mm in diameter and 8.6mm thick, and its lightweight construction reduces resistance during compression. It is widely compatible with most standard AEGs. If you would rather have it installed and bench-tested, our Kent airsoft repair workshop can help, and you can browse related upgrade parts in airsoft accessories.

Frequently asked questions

What are the 8 ported holes for?

The pressure holes work with the piston's O-ring so that air pushes the O-ring out to seal against the cylinder as the piston moves. This gives a strong, efficient air seal during the power stroke.

What does the built-in bearing do?

The integrated pressure bearing reduces friction as the main spring compresses and lets it rotate more freely, which lowers stress and helps smooth out the cycle.

Will it fit my gearbox?

At 14.5mm diameter and 8.6mm thick it is designed to be widely compatible with most standard AEGs. Always test-fit against your piston, cylinder head and nozzle for correct clearance.

Is this a big FPS upgrade?

The gains from a piston head come mainly from better sealing and lower friction and are modest but consistent. Significant FPS changes come from the main spring, which must be chronographed to your site limits.

Does the lightweight design help rate of fire?

Reducing reciprocating mass and friction can help a high-speed build cycle more freely, though the effect is one part of an overall gearbox setup rather than a standalone fix.
