What this budget actually gets you

The £100 to £150 band is where electric rifles (AEGs) become worth owning. You get a metal gearbox, an adjustable hop up and, just as importantly, a platform that spares and magazines are easy to find for. Buy below this and the choice narrows sharply. Gas blowback pistols are here too, and remain excellent value as a sidearm or a first gun.

Everything listed here is stock we hold at our shop in Rochester, Kent, so you can come and handle it before you buy. We also run repairs, servicing and upgrade work in house, which matters more on a budget gun than a premium one.

What is the best airsoft rifle under £150?

Is £150 enough for a first airsoft gun?

Yes, comfortably. £150 buys a skirmish ready AEG that will last you seasons rather than months. Spending more mostly buys better externals and tighter tolerances, not a fundamentally different experience on the field.

What else do I need to budget for?

Eye protection is not optional and no site will let you play without it. Beyond that, budget for a battery and charger if the gun does not include them, BBs, and a magazine or two. Our budget guide covers the full starting cost.

Can I upgrade an AEG in this bracket later?

That is one of the main reasons to buy a common platform. M4 and AK pattern AEGs take standard internals, so hop up units, springs and motors are straightforward to fit. We do upgrade work and servicing in house at the Rochester shop.
